Share of the civilian noninstitutional population ages 25–54 that is employed.
The employment-to-population ratio for ages 25–54 uses a population denominator rather than only the labor force. It complements unemployment, while leaving out older and younger workers and differences in job quality.
What it cannot tell you
Seasonally adjusted. Does not measure job quality, wages, or conditions.

When comparing workforce initiatives, define the age group and use both employment and retention outcomes.
